Updates 2021
Participated as selected artist at the 50th Edition of “Open Stal” art route at Oldeberkoop, The Netherlands.
The series presented during Open Stal is titled: ENVIRONMENTAL POETRY’S

OPEN STAL
Feestelijke editie
Van zaterdag 17 juli tot en met zondag 15 augustus 2021 vindt deze feestelijke editie van Open Stal plaats. De expositie, waaraan 45 kunstenaars deelnemen, is iedere dag te bezoeken van 13:00 tot 18:00 uur. Open Stal is voor iedereen toegankelijk, de entree bedraagt slechts 3 euro per persoon.
De route biedt op onverwachte plekken kunst in het dorp Oldeberkoop, zowel binnen als in de buitenlucht, op variërende locaties zoals o.a. in de kerk, maar ook in een boerderij, garage, school, bos met waterpartijen, een bus, de oude veevoederfabriek en diverse galeries.
Zo maakt de Curacaose kunstenaar Avantia Damberg een installatie over de Aprilmoorden in 1942 in haar land. In de Schrieversronte is een videopoem van Pat van Boeckel te zien, geïnspireerd op een gedicht van zilveren anjerwinnaar Johan Veenstra. Op de Brink kunt u onderdeel worden van de interactieve schommelinstallatie van Chiel Kuijl. Tenslotte betreedt u de CAV, een industriële ruimte waar o.a. grote beelden van Gerhard Lentink en Hans Rikken te bewonderen zijn. Dit zijn maar enkele voorbeelden uit het rijke aanbod.
De kunstroute is 3 kilometer lang. Al wandelend kunt u genieten van de kunst in het pittoreske dorp. Voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn staan witte fietsen klaar. Open Stal kan heel goed met kinderen worden bezocht. Voor hen wordt een speciale speurtocht uitgezet.

Ailsa Anastatia has been selected as one of the Artists to exhibit work during the Open Stal 2020, inspired by this years theme: “Peace, freedom and tolerance”.
Public Art
Commissioned work for the "Kaya Kaya Streetparty".
Fundashon Ser’i Otrobanda, opgericht door Kurt Schoop in 2012, heeft de afgelopen jaren diverse kunstenaars zoals Ailsa Anastatia, Avantia Damberg, Blend Curacao, Giovanni Abath, Francis Sling, Garrick Marchena, Jhomar Loaiza, en anderen op het eiland opdracht gegeven voor om werken voor de wijk Otrabanda (Willemstad) te maken als onderdeel van hun Kaya Kaya Streetparty.

In het Atelier van...
Ailsa Anastatia is gefascineerd door ruimte en laat zich daarnaast ook leiden door het materiaal waar ze mee werkt. Ik leer haar kennen als schilder maar in de loop van haar carrière zie je de schilderijen van de muur komen en de laatste jaren maakt ze ook installaties. Als ik bij haar in de studio bent verteld ze dat ze haar eerste video gemaakt heeft voor haar komende solo tentoonstelling later dit jaar.

International project
The painting wak mi nr. 3 has been selected for the Pan Am GAMES in CANADA 2015
The Pan Am G ames will take place in Canada in 2015 and the Textile Museum of Canada (www.textilemuseum.ca) has been commissioned by the Game organizers to select one artist from each participating country to provide a digital image of an existing artwork that will be part of a project called WATERCOLOUR. The selected images will be printed onto fabric and incorporated into banners and sails for display during the month of sporting events in July and August 2015. We hope you are able to assist us with our research for this project, titled WATERCOLOUR. We are in the process of selecting artists and images, and have chosen the piece pictured above by Ailsa Anastatia to represent the Netherlands Antilles.

Collaboration with Artist Avantia Damberg during my residency at OAZO
We made the animation called Nigra Videri for the opening of the ‘Black Magic Woman Festival’, held in the Bijlmer Park Theater in Amsterdam Zuidoost.

Sharing Identities
Nigra Videri is an animation about enjoying to be invisible in a foreign place/location. Enjoying to disappear in the grey Dutch urban society and architecture. You can be there, but no one sees you. Until you want to, then you let your colors be seen and your sound be heard. At your own time.

INTERNATIONAL PROJECT
"Ailsa Anastatia is an artist from Curaçao who describes her work for this catalogue in her own words: “Like human life, this little painting will fade away.”
LOCAL EXPOSURE
"During the Open Atelier Route of 2011 her series was inspired by the renovation of her new studio. Space is defined by the naked architectural structure of the building, which became visible during the renovation process. This exhibit was titled ‘The Reconstruction of the Rebirth’."
COLLABORATIONS
SOLO EXHIBITION (2019): Fragments of An Unfolding Journey A contemporary art exhibition by Ailsa Anastatia about 'Movement, change, rhythm and growth' connecting our personal journey and nature's steps. Inspired by the lines, forms and colors found in the landscapes and spaces of Curaçao, captured both conceptually and spiritually. Including a video installation featuring Avantia Damberg and Sorandy Sint Jacobs.
